Destined to Fight

Kelly is reaching the end of her rope.  Six years of school for a Master’s in Journalism has led her nowhere simply because her opinion is not in line with the majority.  She refuses to be a microphone for someone else’s cause and it’s driven her out of every good job she lands.

If lost jobs weren’t enough, she has just as many boyfriends she’s tossed to the curb.  A lonely job and long hours seem to attract abusive, cheating men who care nothing about women as people and only treasure the acts they can perform and the beauty they provide.

A lack of work and company has driven Kelly to immerse herself in her passion and forget about almost everything else. She sleeps in her trusty Excursion by day and prowls the streets for the true stories at night.  24-hour coffee shops provide a safe (and free) haven for her to write her blogs, and she’s able to scrape just enough money from her blog ads to feed herself and pay for her gym membership.

Months of living in her car and scraping by are about to pay off.  Kelly is getting closer and closer to the big story.  There’s something out there, something different, and it all leads to the Star Plaza, the tallest building in Dallas. Something is going on in this building, and it’s big. What appear to be powerful people come and go throughout all hours of the night, but there is absolutely no activity during the day.  She’s researched all of them and they’re ghosts who don’t exist in any database on any continent. One man seems to hold the key to it all; every time the red-haired man gets out of the car, he seems to look at her from across the street. His gaze makes the tips of her fingers tingle and the air radiate with something she can’t explain. Power?

Careful planning and rigorous training have prepared her for all possible outcomes.  As Kelly approaches the tower and waits for his car to arrive, the knowing that she will finally discover the truth steadies her nerves. Little does she know, that car carries her future; her destiny.  Her world will change forever tonight, and some day, she will change the world.
